On Thursday evening I met up with Hannah and headed to Black Balsam. It was a first for me to go up there and I failed to consider the dramatic temperature change and wind that greeted us once we reached the trailhead.... but, wow… it was beyond worth it.

Black Balsam is gorgeous.

Hannah is gorgeous, too.

She was a great model as she dealt with intensely windblown hair (truly as dramatic as the pictures reveal) and jumped across questionable rocks in the river for me. I could not believe just how naturally peaceful Hannah was throughout this experience. She is soft-spoken and kind and has one of the types of smiles that can make anyone happy. I am beyond impressed at what this girl has set out to accomplish and I know I will be cheering her on through it all. She’s at the top of her class, just finished an internship with the National Parks Service, and is considering pursuing a psychology degree. I think she’s bound to save the world and make even the plants fall in love with her, too!

I’m excited to share some of my favorite photos from this shoot even though there were too many more that I didn’t include. This girl just amazed me, guys!

More shoots like this, please!

Best wishes in everything you do, Hannah.
