As much as I love shooting the happy pieces of people’s lives, I had been convinced that it was not my time to shoot a wedding just yet. Being a freshman in college seemed to be acting as a challenge on my growth in photography, and I did not want to give any less than my best effort on anything I was to shoot. However, when Taylor asked if I would consider photographing her wedding, something about her made me think that it was finally the time to say “yes." Oh goodness, am I glad that I trusted my intuition. With this beautiful experience under me, I am thrilled to be sharing my first blog post on my experiences of that day.
On October 24th, surrounded by friends and family, Kameron Gann and Taylor McCracken got married in front of a rustic barn decorated with fall colors. It was right down the road from Taylor’s mother’s home where the girls got ready prior to the ceremony. As I sat on the front porch waiting for the groomsmen to arrive for their photos, the barn was just in my line of vision. Every piece of me was excited to capture their day.
With their best friends at their sides, Kameron and Taylor became husband and wife. They joined hands and walked down the aisle, carrying their precious baby boy as they passed through the lace curtains to continue the evening of celebration. I watched as they smiled and hugged all those close to them, making sure to share affection with little Thompson as well. Everyone danced and laughed as clogging was brought onto the floor, followed later on by limbo under the sign bearing Taylor’s new last name. Every bit of this day had me smiling.
I am beyond grateful that I had the opportunity to capture such a beautiful day filled with such beautiful people.
