This weekend was filled with SO much fun!

On Saturday I visited one of my dearest friends at UNC Chapel Hill to celebrate her nineteenth birthday. It was the first time I had made it out there since Mia started attending and I had such a great time seeing how her new home treats her. She has the cutest dorm and it was an honor to see so many of my letters that I've sent hanging up on her wall, along with silly photos of us together elsewhere. I get so excited to see how much my friends have grown as we branch out into new places and experiences. Seeing their new homes makes my heart happy as could be, and I am so glad I got to see life through Mia's eyes for a day!

After grabbing some caffeine and hanging out for a little while, we got ready to head back up towards Franklin Street and snapped some photos along the way.

Mia has been expanding the realms of her creativity yet again and is getting into portrait photography! She also knits and is an incredible writer. Check out her blog here, and see some of her recent photography here! She snapped a few photos of this day as well and they are shared on her photography website!

On Sunday morning I got up and made the drive back to Charlotte. The traffic did not seem to care that I had plans that I was eager to fulfill! When I finally made it back, it was off to Lazy 5 ranch with Tyler, Peter, and Lily.

Now that I'm back (and smell less like a petting zoo), I get to enjoy my flea market finds from a MASSIVE swapmeet stop along the way to Chapel Hill. For less than $10, I left with a stack of 30 vintage postcards (27 of which are still blank!), a really cool old glass jar, and 5 frames filled with pressed flowers! Last weekend I scored at a flea market as well, leaving with new crystals and a light meter for old film cameras. I swear I'm turning into my mother!

This is the likely the last adventure-filled weekend I will be having as a freshman at UNCC as I settle into final exam preparations. In less than a month I will be back in the mountains with my parents and there are many new plans calling my name. I cannot wait to see what this summer will bring for me and I am already thrilled to begin my second year in Charlotte. I'm seriously having the time of my life since I've graduated high school and I LOVE IT! It's truly a blessing that I get to share these new experiences with such wonderful people (like Mia, Tyler, Lily, & Peter of course!) and I am grateful for them all every day.

Here's to an awesome weekend- to Chapel Hill, cow tongues, and to secondhand treasures.
